APPLY FOR CARIBBEANTALES INCUBATOR

CTWD supports the creation of short Caribbean-themed films, through a range of themed short film Challenges held throughout the year. The program provides visibility and a platform for emerging and established producers to develop their voices and filmmaking skills.  The SFC is open to people of Caribbean nationality or heritage throughout the Caribbean region and the Diaspora, and seek to spotlight the authentic stories of our communities and our lives.

Visibility opportunities through the SFC

Short-listed film may receive the following:

  • Screening at the CaribbeanTales International Film Festival
  • Broadcast on CaribbeanTales-TV, our online PPV platform
  • Broadcasts on Flow TV and on the Flow OTT network.

The Short Film Challenge will be advertised throughout the year.

Stay tuned for 2016 Challenges!

There was a sense of camaraderie that we experienced near the end of the workshops when we really started to help each other out with tips and moral support before and after the Big Pitch.

The whole process made us also connect with old and new filmmakers and contacts back at home and revived a project we wanted to do for a long time.

MONIQUE PATRICK THOMPSON – MONEY MONEY MONEY

Participating in the 2016 CaribbeanTales Incubator was an overwhelmingly positive experience. The combined feedback from incubator mentors help me hone in on the need to figure out my character’s “want,” which drastically improved my project’s story potential as well as my pitch. My biggest takeaway from the program is a heightened sense of  responsibility in light of viewing my career goals within the larger context of building the Caribbean’s film and television industry.

KAFI KAREEM FARRELL – BIG MAN DAN

I can say that the CaribbeanTales Incubator program has elevated my status in the Dominican film community. The things I learned in the program, like preparing for a professional pitch, definitely aided in securing the funds for my first feature film, which I’ll be producing next month.
